Canine Companions was founded in 1985 by Certified Master Trainer Bryan Bailey. He started with the simple vision of having a training facility that offered light care for dogs. That vision evolved into a holistic view of animal wellness and advocacy, and over 15 years he grew Canine Companions into the multi service and community oriented business it is today.
After a two-year apprenticeship in training, completion of Bryan’s master training course, and three years of managing Canine Companions, Bryan turned the business over to John Senac in 2011.
Highlights of Bryan’s career:
- Retired decorated U.S. Navy Search & Rescue Instructor, and member of the Navy’s elite Bomb Squad Team. For many years, Bryan Bailey supervised the daily care and training of sea lions and dolphins that were utilized by the U.S. Navy Marine Mammal Projects.
- Monroe County Sheriff Department K9 Officer from July 1995 to
July 1998
- Graduated from two-year course of instruction in dog training
at PRO-TRAIN Institute (California Department of Education Approved).
Training included instruction in Obedience, Personal Protection,
and Police Dog Training.
- Studied Canine Behavioral Diagnostics and Problem Solving at Cornell University
