Good
citizenship is an important part of Canine Companions’ philosophy.
Along with donations to many local organizations, here is a sample
of ways we are involved in making Bloomington better:
Monroe County Humane Association and Bloomington Animal
Shelter: Canine Companions and the Bloomington
Animal Shelter have been working together to increase the success
of the shelter’s canine adoptions. Canine Companions provides
the Bloomington Animal Shelter with necessary veterinary services
at low or no cost, including vaccinations. For several years, Canine
Companions has boarded dogs from the Bloomington Animal Shelter,
extending the period of time they may be adopted. Each year, Canine
Companions is a Diamond Sponsor of the MCHA's
annual fundraiser Walk
for the Animals.
Demonstrations and appearances: Canine Companions
provides more than 50 demonstrations each year, giving school children
instruction on safety, care, and canine customs throughout the world.
At Indiana University School of Education, students observe the
canine learning process through Canine Companions demonstrations.
Motivational speaking: Bryan
Bailey is a Senior High School Church Leader and member of Fellowship
of Christian Athletes. He has been invited by numerous organizations
to provide inspirational and motivational addresses and talks.
